Digital Artifact Contextual Report – Cybernetic Future (#bcm325)

My digital artifact was based on the aspects of cybernetic implants, prosthetics and other similar technologies. Some of the weekly lectures and topics were able to inspire me to do a topic like this, as I have always been curious about such technology and wanted to search into it more.

Some of the aspects that I wanted to consider when it came to cybernetic technology was its pros and cons and how it can make an impact, both negatively and positively in the future, as further technological breakthroughs and developments are being made as each year goes by. Cybernetics Digital Artifact Summary (#bcm325)

Earlier on this semester, I created the idea of a digital artifact that explores certain areas of cybernetics and cyborg technology. I had planned out to create content weekly and showed a rough idea of how I would execute on researching the topic of a video early on in the week and create the video later on in that same week, which did not turn out the way it was expected to be with the many ideas, changes and challenges being discussed and expressed in this post.

MNM Hub has been a project running throughout my entire university degree, not because I have to do it, but because I enjoy it. This semester I was looking more in-depth into the reaction genre as presented in my pitch and how I can present new and innovative ideas for the YouTube scene.

My digital artefact is an evolving piece of media that will project the future of blogging in not only 5 years but perhaps in 15 years. Future Studies has been under the examination of Ziauddin Sardar who is pushes our thinking beyond the typical boundaries of Westernised thinking (Moore 2022). My original digital artefact was all about the future of social media. I was so excited to create video content as I do have a passion for editing. I was also inclined to see what platform was more effective for video content. I did get some feedback on my post about my pitch. Some of the commenters did not understand what my approach was in my digital artefact. Was my digital artefact addressing content marketing the future of social media? Was it about researching the platforms of social media and seeing what type of videos impact certain platforms? After reading those comments I didn’t even know myself what my actual digital artefact was about. Looking back over the tweets I have done since week 6, I noticed that although I managed to get some good engagement for a few of my tweets, I could have done more preparation before watching the movie. When I did research the night before it definitely helped as I really enjoyed watching a lot of the movies and didn’t always want to take my eyes off the screen to do research while tweeting!

I focused my futures studies on researching the effects crocheting has on one’s mental wellbeing.
